Sara Ferrández
Artistic Advisor

“Having experienced the transformative power of great instruments, I’m thrilled to help other artists discover pieces that elevate their artistry. Stretton Contemporary bridges tradition and innovation, and I’m honored to support this mission.” – Sara Ferrández

Born into a family of musicians in Madrid in 1995, Sara Ferrández is one of the most exciting violists of her generation.

She has performed as a soloist with some of the world’s most prestigious orchestras, including the Spanish National Symphony Orchestra and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.

A passionate chamber musician, Sara has collaborated with globally renowned artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Janine Jansen, and Pinchas Zukerman.

She completed her studies under the guidance of Tabea Zimmermann in Berlin and Nobuko Imai at the Kronberg Academy. During her time in Berlin, she also gained invaluable experience as a member of the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic.

In addition to her solo career, Sara is actively composing and producing music, expanding her creative influence. Her innovative approach blends traditional artistry with modern production, positioning her as a forwardthinking artist in today’s classical music landscape.

Sara plays a rare and very fine viola by David Tecchler, Rome 1730, a generous loan by a member of the Stretton Society.

As Artistic Advisor for Stretton Contemporary, Sara combines her expertise as a performer with her passion for connecting musicians to exceptional instruments.
